Interactive
3D Studio
Four interactive teaching models built from the same formulas the calculators use. Drag to rotate, change the parameters, and export the figures.
These are educational simulations
The models are geometrically consistent and use the same formulas as the reference pages, but they are simulations. Real fabric, thread and machines have tolerances, wear and damage that no model knows about. Always follow the instructions supplied with your own equipment.
Stitch Simulator
Build a seam on a parametric piece of cloth. Choose the stitch, set the stitch length and tension, and watch the seam form and the cloth react.
Pattern Drafting Simulator
Turn a set of body measurements into a basic block. Adjust the bust, waist, hip and length and watch the pattern redraw with its seam allowances.
Tension Troubleshooter
Reproduce a tension fault on a 3D stitch and watch which side of the cloth the thread shows on. Compare a correct stitch with a faulty one.
Fabric Drape Simulator
Hang a cloth from a line and watch how it falls. Change the fibre, the weight and the hanging length and compare two fabrics side by side.
Your device

Performance
Desktop works best. On a screen narrower than 640 px each tool opens as its static reference version and offers a button to load the 3D model anyway.
No libraries on other pages
The 3D library is requested only on these four pages. Everywhere else the site is plain HTML, CSS and a small script.
When WebGL is unavailable
Each tool falls back to a static reference panel carrying the same figures and the same procedure, so nothing is lost except the interactivity.
